DISCOVER THE INCREDIBLE SETTINGS THAT INSPIRED THE NOVEL

FJORDS, ISLANDS AND BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPES ARE THE IMPORTANT BACKDROPS TO MY NOVEL INVASION...

The novel is set in the small Norwegian town of Drøbak and in the capital, Oslo. Here are three real locations in the story.

Oslo fjord from the ‘ridgeline’ above Drøbak

1. Oslo fjord from the ‘ridgeline’ above Drøbak

Oscarsborg fortress is partly hidden behind the snow-covered ramparts left of centre. The narrow channel between the fortress and the forest in the foreground is known as the Drøbak Narrows, a recurring and deadly location in the novel. It was from where this photograph was taken, on the ridgeline, that Thomas set off one day in a snowstorm to find Kopås battery.

2. Drøbak cemetery in a low winter sun

The fjord is a short distance beyond the trees. The church is just to the right of the picture and a tree-lined lane runs off to the left. It was on this lane that Thomas made a shocking discovery that changes the course of the story.

3. The gold vaults, Norges Bank, Oslo

The vaults, empty now, were filled with 50 tons of gold in 1939. It was here, just to the left of the stone pillar, that Matthias, the gold clerk, set up his table as he worked on his ‘killer’ plan.

This is only a small selection of the exciting settings and locations you’ll find in the novel INVASION. Buy your copy today and see how Norway comes to life on the page.
